Dog food, analysed

Independent analysis of 260 UK dog foods from 56 brands, scored against 279 breed profiles. Every score comes from the same six-factor engine that runs inside the PawsePal app, so nothing here is an opinion piece.

How the scoring works

Each food is assessed on six factors: how well its protein level fits the breed, whether fat sits within a sensible ceiling, joint support, skin and coat support, filler content, and ingredient transparency. Breed changes how heavily each factor counts, which is why the same food can be a B for one breed and a D for another.

Scores on these pages use a general adult profile, because a public page knows nothing about your dog. The app applies your dog's actual breed, life stage, body condition and any diagnosed conditions, which routinely moves a score by ten points or more in either direction.
